There
are No Guaranteed Print Cartridge Yields
With printers, you purchase
print cartridges when they run out. Often these
expensive cartridges end up buried inside the

It’s hard to know exactly how
many pages you will get from your cartridge since
the yield depends on how much toner is on each
page. Each cartridge has a stated yield based
on just 5% of the page covered in toner. If 10%
of the page is covered, the yield is cut in half
and the cost doubles. With today’s documents
containing pictures, logos and lines, average
coverage is conservatively estimated at 20% of
the page. This means that the true cost per page
could be over four times higher than the cost
based on the stated yield.
